Cash Book & Bank Book

Under Accounts, Digital Bahi provides both a Cash Book (/accounts/financial-books/cash-book) to reconcile your physical cash box and a Bank Book (/accounts/financial-books/bank-book) to review ledger movements across your business bank accounts. Both books use the same unified opening and closing balance engine as your account statements.

What is this?

  • Cash Book: Shows your Opening cash balance, Total Debit (cash inflows), Total Credit (cash outflows), and Closing Balance for the selected period.
  • Bank Book: Shows the Opening balance, Total Debit (deposits/inflows), Total Credit (withdrawals/outflows), and Closing Balance for a selected Bank Account.

When should I use it?

  • Use the Cash Book at the end of every day to verify that the physical cash in your drawer matches Digital Bahi's Closing Balance.
  • Use the Bank Book to inspect electronic transfers (NEFT, RTGS, UPI) and cheques before running Bank Reconciliation.

How to use it

  1. Open Accounts > Cash Book (/accounts/financial-books/cash-book) or Accounts > Bank Book (/accounts/financial-books/bank-book).
  2. On the Bank Book, select your Bank Account from the dropdown (for example, 11102001 — HDFC Bank).
  3. Select the Start Date and End Date (or click Today, Yesterday, This Week, This Month) and click Load.
  4. Review the four summary KPI cards (Opening, Total Debit, Total Credit, and Closing Balance) and the chronological transaction table.
  5. Click Export CSV or Print in the top-right toolbar to save or print the book.
